Background
The purpose of USAID/Cambodia’s upcoming “Feed the Future Cambodia Agriculture
Partnership Hub” will be to foster competitive, resilient, and inclusive
agricultural market systems development to provide increase economic
opportunities (jobs and income) for Cambodians, with a special emphasis on
women and youth.
The proposed Activity will promote and
expand market-based opportunities and will facilitate diversification and
competitiveness within the agriculture sector to achieve the following
high-level objectives:
- Inclusive and sustainable agriculture market systems strengthened
- Strengthened linkages and trust among market actors
Purpose of
Position
Palladium seeks an innovative,
private-sector oriented candidate to serve as the Market Linkages and Export
Specialist on the upcoming Feed the Future Cambodia Agriculture Partnerships
Hub Activity. This position will oversee activities aimed at strengthening
linkages and trust among both domestic and international market actors. This
position will be part of the program’s senior leadership team
Duration: Up
to 5 years
Location: Phnom
Penh, Cambodia
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide technical and managerial oversight to strengthen linkages
between private sector actors in the Cambodian agriculture sector,
including processors, aggregators/wholesalers, input suppliers, banks and
MFIs, and firms working in the digital and tech space - Foster market-led partnerships with
private sector actors, identify opportunities for collaboration and
program support, and facilitate increased market access across multiple
value chains - Support private sector partners and
business associations to identify and seize export opportunities, connect
with buyers, and market agricultural products and services - Help develop and provide technical input
on Request for Applications (RFAs) and provide technical oversight to
grants awarded to the private sector - Work closely with the program’s Gender and
Youth Inclusion Director to ensure all activities promote inclusive
development - Share results and learning with project
leadership team, Palladium, and USAID - Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in agribusiness, trade, economics, international
development, or similar - Minimum 10 years’ experience working in
Cambodia’s agriculture sector, with a strong preference for candidates with
experience promoting private sector partnerships - Experience establishing and strengthening
productive and collaborative partnerships in one or more of the following
areas:- Facilitating export market linkages and
deals - Improving food safety, quality, and
traceability - Promoting technological upgrades to improve
productivity - Increasing firms’ investment and export readiness
- Facilitating export market linkages and
- Ability to adapt programing based on
market needs and in response to market data - Prior experience overseeing partnerships
between the private sector and development programs preferred - Demonstrated leadership, strategic
thinking and planning, management, and presentation skills - Strong interpersonal and supervision
skills managing teams - Written and oral proficiency in English
