Background

The purpose of USAID/Cambodia’s upcoming “Feed the Future Cambodia Agriculture
Partnership Hub” will be to foster competitive, resilient, and inclusive
agricultural market systems development to provide increase economic
opportunities (jobs and income) for Cambodians, with a special emphasis on
women and youth.

The proposed Activity will promote and
expand market-based opportunities and will facilitate diversification and
competitiveness within the agriculture sector to achieve the following
high-level objectives:

  1. Inclusive and sustainable agriculture market systems strengthened
  2. Strengthened linkages and trust among market actors

Purpose of
Position
Palladium
seeks an innovative, private-sector oriented candidate to serve as the Gender
and Youth Inclusion Director on the upcoming Feed the Future Cambodia
Agriculture Partnerships Hub Activity. This position will ensure that the
programs’ gender and youth inclusion strategy is fully integrated across
objectives. This position will be part of the Activity’s senior leadership
team.

Penh, Cambodia 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Advise the Chief of Party and Objective Leads on how to develop activities
    centered around inclusive growth and identify opportunities to increase
    women and youth participation in the Cambodian agriculture sector
  • Lead the development of the Activity’s gender
    and youth inclusion strategy, action plans, and implementation
  • Ensure all staff understand the Activity’s
    gender and youth inclusion requirements
  • Develop and disseminate communications on
    the benefits of increased women and youth participation to promote
    increased private sector investment in gender and youth inclusive
    activities
  • Champion partnerships that incentivize and
    promote the participation and empowerment of women and youth in Cambodia’s
    agriculture sector
  • Facilitate and share Activity learning
    around gender and youth integration with project leadership team,
    Palladium, and USAID
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in public policy, gender studies, international development,
    or similar
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience working to
    promote women and youth inclusion and empowerment, including experience in
    the Agriculture sector
  • Proven experience championing and
    demonstrating the economic benefits of gender- and youth-inclusive
    activities to both development and private sector stakeholders
  • Prior experience developing gender- and
    youth-inclusion strategies and activities
  • Sound knowledge of gender and youth
    inclusion best practices required, knowledge of USAID and Feed the Future
    gender and youth inclusion strategies preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, strategic
    thinking and planning, management, and presentation skills
  • Strong written and interpersonal skills
  • Written and oral proficiency in English
    required
