I  am an Italian MD, chairman of the Dept of Surgery (it includes 2 Divisions of Surgery, 2 Divisions of Anaesthesiology, 1 Div of ENT, 2 Div of OBGYN, 1 Div of Urology) , Chief of the Division of Surgery,  Center for Videolaparoscopic and Robotic Surgery, Hospital of Camposampiero – Padova- Italy. Due to my skills I also was appointed as  Chief ad interim Division of Surgery Hospital Sant Antonio, Padova for years in order to develop minimally invasive surgical oncology. After the completion of my residency program in Italy and after the completion of the 3 steps of USMLE examination, I did the Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at University of Louisville, KY. Apart from the specific  technical training, I was actively involved in the residents’  and students’ education  and in clinical research. After the  fellowship, I came back to Italy and I am leading the Dept of Surgery at the Hospital of Camposampiero from 2006. The Department is a specialized institution, leader in our Country in Minimally Invasive Colorectal Surgery, due to my specific training. We also routinely perform a wide range of other complex surgical oncology operations. I am an expert in minimally invasive techniques for the treatment colorectal diseases (colorectal cancer and IBD), including laparoscopy, robotics, transanal techniques (SILS, SILS TME). Putting together the 2 hospitals where I presently work, we perform about 220 minimally invasive colorectal resections (half of them with the da Vinci, in Camposampiero) . I am a national leader of robotic surgery.  I am interested to pursue my carrier as an academic (or non academic but in an internationally renowned institution) surgical oncologist or colon and rectal surgeon.
