We are seeking an Education Portfolio Manager
capable of growing our education practice in the EMEA region.

This is a business development position that
will suit a professional experienced leading FCDO programmes, specifically in
thematics such as curriculum development, instructional design, hybrid learning
(classroom, online and broadcast), in-service teacher training, education
system strengthening, EdTech, education information systems, or private sector
engagement

Responsibilities
Reporting to the practice Director, some of
the key responsibilities will include

Business Development:
Identify, assess, and lead Palladium’s positioning and partnerships for new business opportunities;
Serve as proposal manager (for technical direction, partnerships, staffing, and budgeting) in partnership with technical writers, recruiters, proposal coordinators, commercial managers, and other team members.
Lead the writing of technical proposals, drawing upon education approaches as applied to specific country contexts.
Facilitate proposal strategy development, set overall win themes, and technical approaches that will guide proposal team members.

Technical Leadership:
Lead the design and technical direction of international development projects for FCDO and other international donors
Provide thought leadership to promote and market Palladium’s technical capability.
Conduct short-term technical assignments on topics such as curriculum development, hybrid learning (classroom, online and broadcast), in-service teacher training, education system strengthening, among other relevant topics.

Project Management:
Serve as Project Director on one or more FCDO education projects.
For assigned portfolio projects, interface with clients and other project stakeholders to plan, implement, review, and report on projects as needed and requested.
Provide support to project work planning, budgeting, and progress/financial reporting.

Required Qualifications:

– Extensive experience in curriculum development, instructional design, hybrid learning (classroom, online and broadcast), in-service teacher training, education system strengthening, EdTech, education information systems, or private sector engagement for education.
– Extensive experience overseeing FCDO projects of GBP10 million or greater, preferably overseas, and preferably involving grants/subcontractors.
– Familiarity applying cross-cutting FCDO priorities, including private sector engagement, improved governance, and inclusive planning approaches – to programmes related to education
– Broad and deep familiarity with developing country contexts gained through significant overseas experience.
– Excellent communication skills, including public presentations (moderator, panellist, keynote), published blogs or articles.
– Significant experience conceptualising and writing successful proposals for FCDO opportunities.
– Thorough and up-to-date understanding of FCDO programmes
– Demonstrated financial acumen with excellent problem-solving as well as decision-making skills.
– Experience managing and inspiring staff and stakeholders.
