I am a first-year master’s student in the International Agriculture program at Oklahoma State University, who has completed their second semester with a 3.5 GPA. My focus is on Agricultural Economics and Rural Development; my graduate research was going to be on adoptability of thermotherapy technology on rural plantain farmers in Colombia, but these plans have been cancelled due to the global pandemic. I would like to instead pursue an internship or job position that ties in with my research focus on economics, rural development, and global outreach. I completed a research proposal on agricultural technology adoption that includes quantitative theory on human capital, willingness to pay theses, and cost-benefit analyses on traditional and innovative methods of integrative pest management (IPM) that I would be happy to share. I currently have 2 years of experience in urban development through community gardening coordination with Park Pride of Atlanta, and am looking to expand this experience on a global scale that targets communities in need of relief and/or development. I am a strong writer and researcher, and can prove to be an asset to any team due to my malleability and work ethic. I am also fluent in Spanish due to my undergraduate degree in Spanish and International Business. I am looking forward to cultivating my knowledge and enriching my experience for my future research in agriculture, economics, rural development, and global outreach. Thank you for your consideration!
