Interested in working in the field of Global Health and learning more about disease epidemiology, health equity, and nonprofit work. Proficient in conducting comprehensive literature reviews, programing and promoting events and workshops, and providing administrative support.
I am a Senior Lecturer, and multi-disciplinary health researcher working for the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences (COMAHS), University of Sierra Leone. I have conducted research on a number of health systems issues, in line with the national needs in Sierra Leone, generating evidence to inform government policy and donor strategies for building resilient and responsive health systems, thereby achieving universal health coverage for all. I have disseminated these research findings at local and international fora and also provided technical assistance to the health systems strengthening process in Sierra Leone post Ebola, working with the in-country and international teams on the development of the health sector recovery plan.
I am also at the forefront of sustainable institutional research capacity building at COMAHS, working to change the research landscape at COMAHS. I was the Principal Investigator/Research Manager on the recently concluded European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) funded RECAP-SL (Research Capacity Sierra Leone) project, which focused on institutional capacity development at COMAHS in a sustainable manner, for multi-disciplinary health research to support the health system rebuilding phase in Sierra Leone. Accordingly, on this platform, I was part of the team that has developed a research centre within COMAHS that serves as a research coordinating centre, and lead on health systems research and capacity strengthening within Sierra Leone to deliver credible, relevant research for effective policy making and practice.
