Hello, my name is Stephen John Cruz and I am a recent graduate from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's in Human Biology. I am looking for an opportunity to serve my local and global community and gain valuable health care experience in preparation for entering Medical School in the coming years. As a community leader, I strive to push boundaries by influencing mental health awareness and advocation for urban and underserved communities in healthcare. Specifically, I am devoted to the welfare of those affected by physical and psychological trauma.
I am a Bangladeshi student. I did my bachelors from Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU), Chittagong, Bangladesh in Food Science and Technology. Soon I will be completing my Masters in Global Health from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway (15 June 2020). At present, I am doing my research on Dietary Transition in the Populations of the Arctic with AMAP (Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Program) as a master student level researcher, while writing my masters thesis paper on Dietary Transition in the Indigenous Populations of the Arctic. For the research method, I am using a systematic review of the literature following the guidelines from COCHRANE and PICO for defining the study subjects and materials. I am active in social work and volunteered in ISFIT 2019, UN Students Association in Trondheim, and currently a volunteer in the International Welfare Organization in Trondheim (An organization for refugee and immigrant welfare). I am interested in research and fieldwork focusing on food, nutrition, diet and biotechnology.
