Theyareresponsiblefor the overall leadership, vision, and management of the day-to-day operations working in close partnership with Ministry of Health (MOH)-appointed hospital leadership. The Administrator provides direction for the overall hospital master plan, ensures high-quality patient care, and represents the hospital and new Maternal Center of Excellence with government counterparts and other external stakeholders at local and national levels. This role represents PIH within the Hospital Board, collaborating with others to ensure the hospital delivers safe,high-qualityand efficient health services.The Hospital Administrator should have prior experience managing hospital facilities, preferably in a low resource setting. They must have a proventrack recordof leading with integrity, empathy, andhave demonstrated strong collaboration amongst colleagues and other stakeholders. This position is for external international applicants.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Leadership and Governance:(60%)Coordinate the execution of the hospital’sday-to-dayoperations and overall master plan as outlined in the co-management collaborative agreement established between MOH and PIH.Report regularly to the PIH SL leadership and the Hospital Board on performance, risks, and opportunities.Serve as part of the Executive Management Team of PIH SL.Ensure compliance with national health policies, laws, and accreditation standards.Provide overall supervision of clinical, operational, and administrative functionsas well as directly managing the leadership teams for these respective functionsProvide oversight of the overall KGH master plan, ensuring progress is beingcentrallytrackedregarding hospital infrastructure across the full campus compound and peripheral warehouse and training facilitiesCoordinate the development of the hospital annual budget, monitor financial performance, and ensure fiscal responsibility for the overall KGH/MCOE campus, in partnership with PIH Sierra Leone executive leadership team and the Hospital Board.Provide overall management of the hospital budget and financing in partnership with the hospital management committee and hospital finance officer.Provide mentorship and support for the senior hospital leadership team and broader workforce, providing capacity building and support for Ministry of Health hospital leadership teamPromote a culture of accountability, inclusiveness, and continuous learning.Quality and Patient Care:(25%)Ensure that KGH receives full accreditation as a regional referral and teaching hospital and that the standards, once the hospitalhas been accredited, are maintained.Champion clinical quality improvement programs in partnership with medical and nursing leadership.Ensure the hospital meets standards for patient safety, infection control, and clinical outcomes.Ensure effective coordination across departments to deliver seamless patient care.Address critical issues and crises, including patient safety incidents and disaster response.Ensure overall safety and security of the hospital campus, managing patient and visitor flowExternal Representation:(10%)Serve as the hospital’s primary spokesperson with local government, donors, and community stakeholders.Represent the hospital at key national and international forums and health sector events.Host local steering committee meetings with Kono-based community members and leadersExplore and secure new funding streams through partnerships, grants, and philanthropy.Additional:(5%)Other duties as delegated to you by your line manager that fall within the scope of work and role level.This job descriptionis intendedas a guide to the general scope of duties and is not intended to be definitive or restrictive.
