I am medical graduate from Bangladesh. I had completed PhD in Social Medicine from the Karolinska Institute, Sweden in March 2015. I also completed Masters in Public Health from the same university in 2004 with outstanding performance.
Currently, I am working at the Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, Bangladesh as Director – Operations. I am also leading the three other technical departments of the organization (Health System Research, Road Traffic Injury Research Centre and Neglected Tropical Diseases). I am also overseeing the Learning and Development Unit of the organization. Prior to this attachment, I worked with the World Health Organization (Regional Office for South-East Asia), New Delhi, India and International Injury Research Unit, Johns Hopkins University. I also worked with the World Health Organization, Country Office, Kenya. Recently, I am assigned to support the Nepal Injury Research Centre (NIRC) as the focal person of my current organization. I am also Country Consultant of Tropical Health and Education Trust, UK and supporting implementation of UK Partnerships for Stronger Health Systems (UKPHS) program in Bangladesh. Over the last 20 years, I got the opportunity to work in different capacities i.e. researcher, program manager, administrator and senior management team member. My work experiences can be summarized by more than sixteen years’ of public health program management including six years at international level and five years’ in managing humanitarian projects.
