My name is Gia Hernandez and I am a recent MPH (Global Health) graduate from Loma Linda University who is passionate about community improvement, global impact, equity, and sustainability. With an undergraduate degree in Human Biology I have had the opportunity to work in healthcare in varying capacities, each of which fueled my passion to pursue a higher degree in global health. Working as an adjunct faculty at my alma mater and as a program coordinator for an international medical internship experience, I have gained skills in leadership, communication, and organization. Additionally, working as an EMT and Lead Medical Coordination Assistant for a non-profit organization I have learned to work alongside vulnerable individuals from various walks of life with compassion, open-mindedness, and understanding. Most recently I have been working as a MEAL officer for an international organization, assisting them with Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience activities throughout The Bahamas. As I continue my global health career I hope to build upon the lessons and skills that I have acquired. Specifically, I hope to find a position that allows me to continue learning and expanding upon my newly acquired M&E skills.
