Contributing to creating a better world, where more people live healthy, full lives is central to both my personal and professional goals. Early on, my passion for architecture and interest in international relations brought me to the University of Virginia and Washington, D.C. It turned out that I discovered a passion to build more than columns: I found a calling for solving problems that hinder sustainable development. My early experience at the Futures Group (Palladium) was very formative and offered valuable exposure to challenges and opportunities related to Gender Equality and Global Health. Fast forward a few decades later: I have evolved into an accomplished global health actor with a solid background in many areas of international aid, including program management, supply chain management, health strengthening, access to medicines and vaccines, digital health, and technologies for sustainable development. Practically speaking, the sum of my experiences has allowed the development of a strong ability to uncover novel ways to tackle complex problems hindering the health and well-being of too many. Today, incorporating equity and inclusiveness when designing solutions that must weigh in digital maturity, innovation, efficiency, and impact are both well-informed and instinctive, whereas my broad background in program management serves the design and implementation strategies and plans for the deployment of large-scale initiatives for resource-poor settings. Depending on the context, I draw on best practices and learnings from previous engagement to ensure the development of context-centric roadmaps and strategies conducive to system change. Finally, I thrive in learning environments where multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams engage together to building and implementing strategies and nurturing the relationships and partnerships that are essential not only to meet goals but more importantly to make the outcomes of our collective endeavors sustainable. As a manager, I am recognized and appreciated for my dedication to leading by example and finding ways to bringing the best contribution from each individual.
Over the last 8 years, I have gathered relevant professional experience at the National and sub-national levels working in the areas of Girl Child Education, Women Empowerment, Health Systems Strengthening. Specifically, I currently work as Project Coordinator responsible for Cross-Sector Coordination on the USAID Act to End NTDs|West Programme. On this role, I provide technical assistance to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and Ministry of Health (MOH) towards the mainstreaming of NTDs into Ghana's overall health system. A key achievement has been supporting the GHS and MOH to establish two national multi-sector mechanisms ie i) Ghana Intra-Country Coordination Committee (ICCC) for NTDs and ii)Ghana Schistosomiasis/Soil-Transmitted Helminthiasis Committee. My project is currently supporting the GHS and MOH in developing an NTD Sustainability Plan towards strong Government ownership and commitment to addressing NTDs issues.
