We are seeking to appoint a Research Fellow for Innovative Methods and Metrics for Agriculture and Nutrition Actions (IMMANA) programme. IMMANA’s aim is to accelerate the development of a robust scientific evidence base needed to guide changes in global agriculture and food systems to feed the world’s population in a way that is both healthy and sustainable. The post-holder will work in close collaboration with the IMMANA Principal Investigator and Prof. Sera Young (Northwestern University) but is expected to develop and execute an independent body of academic work of highest standards within the thematic scope of IMMANA.
The post-holder is expected to advance the field of water insecurity through innovative research using secondary data from diverse sources including geospatial water data from the Gallup World Poll, and data from national health and nutrition surveys.
The post-holder must have a postgraduate degree in a field related to Public Health Nutrition, Epidemiology, or Public Health, with demonstrated strengths in geospatial and statistical methods. Demonstrated proficiency in Stata, R, or other equivalent statistical software, complemented by other data management and evidence synthesis tools is essential. The post is fixed-term until 31 January 2026 and full-time, 35 hours a week. The post is co-funded by UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and available from 01 July 2024.
The salary will be on the Academic scale, Grade 6 scale in the range £43,947-£49,908 per annum pro-rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro-rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
