The Department of Medical Statistics wishes to appoint a statistician to work on research relating to major clinical trials and epidemiological studies. Much of this research concerns cardiovascular diseases, but available projects also cover a wide range of other medical topics. The research concerns both methodological developments and applied collaborative projects.  Teaching of postgraduate students would also be expected. 

The successful applicant requires an aptitude for both applied and methodological research, with relevant experience in statistical programming and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. An MSc in statistics or equivalent is essential and previous experience of clinical trials and/or epidemiological research is desirable. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is full time and available from October 2020 to December 2020, with the possibility of further extension. Salary will be on the Academic Research Fellow Grade 6 in the range £40,011 – £45,437 per annum inclusive. The post will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
