We are recruiting two Research Assistants to work with the team of health economists in the Evaluation of Social and Population Health Interventions (ESPHI) research group, part of the Department of Global Health and Development at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

The postholders will work to support ESPHI across a number of projects. The posts will be a mixture of three areas: a) co-designing and conducting literature reviews and related work on the economics of COVID-19; b) supporting costing and cost-effectiveness synthesis to inform policy and c) supporting the collection and analysis of cost data as part of trials on cost-effectiveness of interventions to address infectious disease in partnership with partners in low- and middle-income countries. The post holders will be responsible for working with colleagues to support economic data collection, analysis and dissemination on a range of projects.

The successful candidates will have an MSc degree in health economics, or a first degree in economics with a Master’s degree in public health/ health sciences, or a Master’s degree in public health with substantial work experience in health economics. Experience in conducting primary health sector cost data collection/economic evaluation/ health technology assessment in low- and middle-income countries is also required. The post holders will be based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. The appointment is full time 1.0 FTE for 12 months. Salary will be on the Academic Pathway, Grade 5 scale in the range £34,854 – £40,011 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting. Appointment will be subject to LSHTM terms and conditions, including membership of the Universities Superannuation Scheme and an annual leave allowance of 30 days. In addition to the annual leave allowance, there are discretionary ‘˜Director’s Days’. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
