Position Overview
Palladium seeks to recruit a well-qualified project director for an upcoming global project. The project will focus on managing worldwide teams to assist countries to provide a range of quality-assured essential health commodities through robust global and local supply chains, while strengthening in-country supply chain and pharmaceutical management systems.

The Project Director will be ultimately responsible for all aspects of the program. This includes but is not limited to ensuring that technical assistance, direct engagement and implementation activities are operationally sound and meet the client’s objectives. In addition, the Project Director is responsible for taking the lead in client communications and interactions; this includes all USG partners. The Project Director manages partnership contributions and ensures they meet the needs of the project in a coordinated and efficient manner. The Project Director is responsible for overseeing global and project level coordination and ensuring that the project is effectively coordinating with other project activities and other relevant stakeholders. The Project Director will also manage project staff by providing direct supervision to senior project leadership.

Roles and Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership to key project areas including project and global coordination, technical assistance and overall strategy, field implementation, operations and compliance, risk management, USG, other donor and partner relationships and results dissemination. Areas of technical oversight may include supply chains and elements of medical commodity market dynamics and product introduction, heath systems strengthening, capacity building, private sector engagement, management information systems, data-driven decision making and policy.
Serve as the main project interface between USG and other donor stakeholders and Palladium senior management.
Provide leadership to functional, regional, and country teams and help identify global and regional trends.
Document the results and impact of technical assistance for project M&E system and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Oversee writing of technical reports and other deliverables.
Collaborate with functional teams, USAID missions, and stakeholders to develop scopes of work that clearly identify short and long-range achievable, sustainable strategies for improving partner organizations’ capacity.
Represent the project in front of USAID and other entities and stakeholders.
Provide overall vision and strategic direction for the project and provide leadership to staff and partners to ensure they are working toward goals that will achieve expected results.
Oversee the development of and contribute expertise to responsive and achievable strategic plans and workplans and gain donor approvals.
Directly supervise senior project staff and others as assigned; develop clear and achievable objectives, evaluate performance against objectives, mentor, and provide corrective guidance as appropriate.
Responsible for overseeing project budget and finances including financial performance reporting, budget projections and project spending.
Prepare analyses, recommendations, briefing notes, white papers, and assessments for internal and client use.
Assume responsibility for partner management ensuring that partners are fully engaged and participate in the project.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Position Requirements
Demonstrated management, leadership, and interpersonal skills and credibility as a leader.
Longstanding track record serving in Sr. Management roles for international development projects.
Demonstrated experience as a project director or in a senior leadership position of global or multi-country projects requiring the assembling, managing, and supervising of complex teams.
Experience with building collaboration across various stakeholders.
Substantial technical experience with programs related to supply chain management and systems strengthening, particularly those related to the implementation of reproductive health, MCH, HIV/AIDS, and Malaria programs in developing countries is desirable.
Proven experience working with USG, particularly USAID, and USG country offices.
Experience building a creative and talented team and leading toward a unified vision.
Prior experience developing strategic plans, workplans, and/or activity plans for large supply chain programs.
Ability to communicate effectively and high comfort level writing and presenting data and information in a compelling way to difference audiences.
Excellent written and spoken English and ability to communicate across technical disciplines and non-technical audience required.
Ability to speak and write French a plus.
