The Global Panel on Agriculture and Food Systems for Nutrition is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee and manage the coordination of processes and workflow to support the successful delivery of Global Panel objectives.
The Global Panel is an independent group of influential experts with a commitment to tackling global challenges in food and nutrition security. It is co-chaired by Prof Sir John Beddington, former UK Chief Scientific Adviser, and H.E. John Kufuor, former President of Ghana. The Panel is supported by a Secretariat based within the London International Development Centre (LIDC).
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the influence of the Panel by developing, implementing and evaluating systems and procedures to support efficient workflow and internal communications throughout the Secretariat; linking up team members on planned and new initiatives, and monitoring progress on the workplan. The Operations Manager will work closely with the Directors to ensure the project’s milestones and targets are met in a timely manner, anticipating and addressing potential delays or obstacles in the delivery of outputs and identify solutions, consulting the Director and Deputy Director as appropriate.
The post is full time and fixed-term until 31 March 2021, and candidates will preferably be available for an immediate start. The salary will be on the Professional salary scale Grade 6 in the range £40,011 to £45,437 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Director’s Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at 20 Bloomsbury Square, London.
