Overview and Role:
Palladium
was awarded the USAID/Trade Reform and Development in Egypt (TRADE) Activity
contract, which has a 5-year timeframe and a ceiling of $36.3 million. The
Project will be active throughout Egypt.   The goal of the TRADE
Activity is to increase Egypt’s international trade by increasing exports from
SMEs, and in particular New and Expanding Export-Ready Enterprises
(NEEREs).  This will be achieved by addressing the constraints that impede
the competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The HR Manager will organize the recruitment of project staff, administer leave
and benefits, and address staff issues. They will be responsible for ensuring
compliance with USAID regulations, Palladium policy, and Egyptian
labor laws.

Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the employment process, compensation, health insurance, and employee relations matters. 
  • Oversee the recruitment and hiring process of new employees.
  • Participate in candidates’ interviews, selecting and orienting employees.
  • Ensure all new employees are familiar with the company’s HR policies/procedures.
  • Help to create a culture of shared responsibility for HR best practices across the project.
  • Address complaints and resolve them by implementing innovative solutions.
  • Lead and oversee the annual performance review process.
  • Develop staff onboarding and training plans, oversee administration of staff induction.
  • Design interesting onboarding sessions and processes for new recruits.
  • Ensure the proper administration of benefits programs such as medical. insurance, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and other related benefits. 
  • Stay up to date with legal requirements and update HR policies as needed.
  • Maintain the USAID Trade project policies that will encourage a healthy work environment.
  • Supervise the HR Assistant and ensure the goals set are met.
  • Conduct other related duties as assigned.

Required
Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience. with international organizations, USAID preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in HR, Business Administration or other related field.  
  • Knowledge of Egyptian HR laws and USAID regulations.
  • Excellent active listening and negotiation skills. 
  • Proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point).  
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) and fluent in Arabic.
  • This position is only available to Egyptian citizens
