Position Title:  Gender & Social Equity Evaluation Lead

Reports to: Chief, Gender and Social Equity (G&SE)

Location: Remote; Central Plateau, Haiti

Employment Type: Full-time, Temporary (6 months with possibility of extension)

 

Position Overview:

The Gender & Social Equity Evaluation Lead plays an important role extended to the University of Global Health Equity-Haiti team. The Lead will work closely with the Chief of Gender and Social Equity in collecting existing information on programs and plans of current and past activities pertaining to Gender and Social Equity across all PIH sites, beginning with Haiti. The Lead will examine available policies on Gender and Social Equity across all Partners in Health (PIH) sites, and will develop a tool to examine perceptions on G&SE across all PIH sites. These three areas will culminate in a final report to the Chief of G&SE to determine recommendations, strategic approach, and funding for the following three to five years. This is a remote position; however, if extended, will require relocation to Haiti.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Chief of G&SE and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team in Boston, and at sites to discuss Gender and Social Equity work.
  • Develop a plan for the collection of information from each PIH site on the following:
    • Past and current work for each PIH site on gender and social equity.
    • Past and current policies developed (in use or not) by the governments of all PIH sites.
  • Develop tool for assessing current thoughts from PIH employees from sites on their thoughts on how PIH is active or not, in gender and social equity, collect recommendations, discuss, when possible, with individuals on way forward, roadblocks, etc.
  • Draft a report with these preliminary findings to present to Chief of G&SE.
  • Draft presentation of all steps related to process of data collection, findings, recommendations.
  • Work closely with Chief of G&SE on recommendations, three-five year plan for the center, funding, budget.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree with 10 years’ experience; or Masters’ Degree with five years’ experience; conducting literature reviews, collecting information from multiple sources, development of assessment tools, research, drafting report for evaluations
  • Background/interest in social science, or public health preferred
  • Organized, on time and excellent follow- up
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse staff from all PIH sites
  • Enthusiasm for global health and social justice
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative; must be a quick learner, able to multi-task and easily adapt to changing circumstances
  • Advanced organizational skills and capacity to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to effectively work on a team in a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated maturity and good judgment
  • Fluency in English, Spanish and French/Creole desirable
  • Interest in social justice strongly desirable
