Position Title: Front-End Web Developer
Reports to: Lead Web Developer
Location: Boston, MA
Position Type: Full-Time

 

Position Overview:

The Front-End Web Developer is responsible for contributing to the overall development and maintenance of PIH’s Drupal based website. They will serve as the first point of contact for any website related support issues and carry out day-to-day content updates to the site.

 

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of the site’s templates and theme as well as continually working towards improving its overall user-experience.
  • Working with Lead Developer and Communications team in all aspects of a visual redesign such as planning, design, and implementation
  • Testing new website functionality and modules.
  • Working closely with Editorial and Creative teams to develop media-rich content pages.
  • Implementing digital campaign initiatives in collaboration with the Communications team and its consultants.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on site usage and success of digital campaigns with tools like Google Analytics.
  • Research, recommend and help with implementing strategies for UX optimization and improved content delivery.
  • Gain familiarity with and grow expertise in PIH’s ecosystem of web applications, such as CRM databases, fundraising and email marketing applications.
  • Identify emerging digital opportunities and come up with strategies to incorporate them into existing organizational goals.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years in the web development industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Development experience with a CMS like Drupal (preferred) or WordPress.
  • Eagerness to learn and experiment with new web technologies/frameworks.
  • Appreciation for and an interest in social justice and the mission of Partners in Health.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and countries.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A. or B.S. in relevant field.
  • Familiarity with Drupal 8/9.
  • Familiarity with a front-end framework (like Bootstrap, Foundation or React) and CSS preprocessors (Sass or LESS).
  • Familiarity with industry standard application development, testing and release workflows.
  • Familiarity with hosting providers like Acquia, Pantheon or AWS.
  • Familiarity with Design applications such as Adobe Photoshop, and prototyping tools like Canva, Figma or Sketch.
