The Newborn Health and Early Child Development team within the Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health, linked to LSHTM Centres of MARCH and Vaccine at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, is seeking to appoint an Events Officer & Marketing Officer.

The post holder will be responsible for managing strategic event for Group B Streptococcus global conference (ISSAD2021) and for supporting relevant communication products for the Group B Streptococcus global conference (ISSAD2021).

The job holder will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) for ISSAD conference and Group B Streptococcus grants and will manage and deliver a world-class – and sector-leading event that will: raise profile; enhance reputation; engage public, policymakers, practitioners and industry partners. They will be expected to manage partners, committees and sub-contractors, and to develop the ISSAD website and event toolkit.

The successful candidate must have a degree or professional training, or equivalent knowledge through experience in event management. Understanding of global health and development would be desirable.

This full-time post, based in London, is available immediately. The post is fixed-term and funded until 31 January 2022, with some possibility of extension. The salary will be on the LSHTM Professional Support Pathway Grade 5 scale, in the range £34,854 to £40,011 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition, there are six discretionary ‘Director’s Days’. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
