Role Overview:

Within Palladium, Palladium Impact Capital is
one of the leading investment banking firms focused exclusively on the impact
investing market. Until earlier this year, we were known as Enclude Capital
Advisory Services. A team of 14 professionals, we have mobilized some US$600mn
in capital towards impact, mostly for emerging markets. We work with social
enterprises and mission driven fund managers to raise capital, with asset
owners to help effect responsible exits and with a range of clients on the
design, development and structuring of investment vehicles. In addition, we
provide a range of other advisory services related to capital markets issues.

Palladium Impact Capital is looking for a highly
commercial head of its Americas franchise, capable of driving new business
development, project execution and development of the franchise overall. You
will lead the delivery of a wide range of financial advisory mandates
(transactions and consulting assignments) and manage a team in support of the
execution of these responsibilities. This is a unique opportunity to build an
impact focused investment banking business, building on an extensive track
record and strong market recognition among impact investment market participants
globally, as well as on the Palladium platform, with its broad geographic
presence and deep sector knowledge

Primary responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Director
include the following:

 Business development

  • Source prospective client relationships and driving conversion of pitch projects, both directly and through relationships within Palladium
  • Cultivate investor networks
  • Represent the firm through public speaking engagements and publications
  • Shape the team’s thought leadership on impact investing themes, product innovation and transaction design
  • Participate in, and leading, ongoing internal coordination and planning meetings

Project management

  • Oversee the execution of projects and leading on strategic client relationships
  • Day-to-day lead on projects, and manage relationships with key current and prospective clients
  • Lead the Americas team and individual project teams
  • Provide oversight in respect of project financial management, including monitoring budget, invoicing and collections

Execution and oversight

  • Responsible for oversight of mandate execution
  • Liaise with and advise clients on transaction strategy including tactics, deal structuring, negotiation strategy and providing insight on specific strategic issues
  • Manage term sheet and documentation negotiation through to transaction closing


  • Lead the registration process with the SEC/FINRA membership
  • Develop a set of policies and procedures that are, to the extent possible, aligned with those adopted by the firm in the United Kingdom
  • Support the establishment of the required financial management and reporting infrastructure, including the identification of external suppliers
  • where needed

Practice building

  • Drive the development of strategy for the Americas, which may include development of dealflow in some or all of:
    • Latin American Markets
    • Other geographies, but on behalf of clients based in the Americas
    • US domestic dealflow, including (but not necessarily limited to) the community banking sector
  • Identify areas of business growth and designing plans for acting on those opportunities
  • Take responsibility for one or more internal team functions (e.g. training, people development, compliance, finance)
  • Manage and mentor Directors, Associate Directors and Associates, including performance review and career development

Reporting requirements

  • The role reports to the Practice Area
    Leader (Managing Director), Capital Advisory


  • Key relationships will be with the role’s manager as well as the wider Palladium Impact Capital team
  • Liaising with the global teams
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and their team
  • Interface with thought leadership and knowledge management teams

Authority levels

  • Complete autonomy with appropriate consultation with the Practice Area Leader where applicable
  • Approval of all client related agreed projects, budgets and deliverables
  • The role requires analysis of strategic situations, issues and risks and submission of sound recommendations to clients
  • The role will be responsible for the effective management of employees in the Americas

Experience required

  • Track record of having had P&L responsibility for a capital advisory business, as well as for client engagements (including transactions)
  • Experience in building and leading teams
  • Commitment to and experience in the impact investing and/or development finance sectors
