Development Specialist (12-month consultancy)

Resolve to Save Lives seeks a Development Specialist to support fundraising efforts and donor relationship management. The position will report directly to the President & CEO. This is a 12-month consultancy, remote position, though occasional visits to the New York City office and other travel may be required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment to support an important, large-scale global public health effort.

The Development Specialist will perform duties such as, but not limited to:

Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors (high-value individuals and entities) which align with Resolve’s goals and mission

Develop a 12-month fundraising plan, including recommendations for a staffing structure to support Resolve’s ongoing development efforts as a new entity

Work closely with the CEO and members of the Senior Management team including the COO, CFO, and Senior Vice Presidents to hone an approach for each potential donor

Lead efforts to design and develop an optimal request for funds, and prepare materials accordingly

Provide strategic guidance on boilerplate documents (e.g. history and mission statements) across all of Resolve’s communication platforms (e.g. factsheets, websites, donor reports, presentations, etc.), in coordination with the Vice President of Communications

Participate in discussions with potential donors, and provide rapid and effective follow-up

Track grant announcements and timelines, develop proposals in coordination with program teams, and ensure completion of all submission requirements

Liaise with existing donor contacts, as appropriate, to answer questions, ensure all funding requirements are met in a timely manner, and facilitate long-term relationships

Keep the CEO and members of the Senior Management team up to date on progress and challenges

Required qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, with at least 10 years’ work experience in nonprofit fundraising

Experience working with global organizations on development strategies, donor relations, and/or fundraising

Experience working with senior leadership and high-level executives

Ability to create/finalize high quality materials suitable for donor presentations

Ability to manage multiple complex projects with competing deadlines

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Flexible and positive disposition; demonstrates professionalism

Organized, ability to work in a fast-paced work environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred qualifications:

Graduate degree

Evidence of interest in/ commitment to public health or advancing health equity
