Salary: £29,854 to £33,959 per annum, inclusive.

We are seeking a driven Data Officer & Administrator to continue to build and maintain the Global Vector Hub (GVH) website – https://globalvectorhub.lshtm.ac.uk/. This exciting role would suit an individual who is prepared to learn on their feet and work flexibly to help further develop an existing online project. They will help develop new content and maintain the current GVH website – an online resource with the vision to be instrumental in the elimination of vector-borne diseases, worldwide, through providing a vector-borne disease control information resource, database and network.
The post holder will be responsible for developing content for all aspects of the website, including: creating and finding online resources, gathering and analysing pre-existing biological data, and developing the networking tool to connect individuals and organisations. The post requires an individual with experience in manual data mining, data curation and data management; and an interest in global health issues, particularly vector-borne diseases. The post holder will also be expected to assist with the running of the Logan Group at LSHTM, including day to day administrative work for ZikaPLAN. The post will be based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in the Department of Disease Control.
The successful candidate will have a relevant degree in a quantitative subject such as data science or evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience, database management experience, data mining and curation experience, with good understanding of data analysis, statistical techniques and data cleaning, experience working with large linked datasets, knowledge on data principles and data quality, technical knowledge of statistical/data management software. This full-time post, based in London, is funded by BBSRC and the European Union’s Horizon 2020, for a period of 6 months in the first instance with the possibility to extend depending on funding. Salary is on the Professional Support Pathway Grade 4 scale in the range £29,854 – £33,959 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary ‘Director’s Days’. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available.
