The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) Zimbabwe, is seeking a Coordinator to support the Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) in executing their Malaria burden reduction and Elimination Program strategies through activity coordination, geospatial mapping and analytics of surveillance data. The Coordinator will work together with CHAI teams, NMCP, Provinces and districts on ensuring the country implements evidence based program planning, activity coordination and deployment of appropriate interventions in priority target populations and build a strong base for accelerating progress towards sustainable malaria elimination in both high burden and low burden settings.
Work as an integral part of the malaria control and/or elimination team to provide focused support to MoHCC and NMCP on the execution of the malaria strategy along the transmission continuum;
Support subnational microplanning, coordination, implementation, review and updating of malaria control and/or elimination policies, guidance and activity execution as may be required by the NMCP and CHAI management;
Plan and coordinate malaria program activities for quality execution of strategies;
Support identification of operational bottlenecks that hamper progress towards set targets and devise strategies to mitigate the identified bottlenecks;
Support identification of use cases for novel tools and approaches in malaria control and/or elimination;
Support capacity building and skills transfer to identified MoHCC cadres;
Provide robust analytical and data management support to the MoHCC and NMCP on malaria activities;

Bachelor’s degree in in Geographical Information Systems, Biological sciences, Public Health, Development Studies, Economics, Finance or related field
2 years of professional work experience in the public or private sector (candidates with public health experience preferred);
Strong proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), statistical analysis Software, data visualization;
Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize information concisely, prepare compelling presentations, and short reports;
Ability to multi-task, think innovatively and be effective in high-pressure situations;
Ability to work independently on complex projects;
Experience working on malaria projects or any projects of similar nature will be an added advantage;
Ability to travel extensively (40% local travel) to provinces, districts and health facilities.
