I am an oral surgeon by qualification and a public health professional with primary subject expertise in epidemiology and biostatistics. This unique mix of scientific know how, therapeutic knowledge, and data handling capabilities, have helped me to identify problems and fast track solutions for various pharma clients. During my thirteen years of stint in the healthcare industry, I had the opportunity to associate with the launch of many products. I have been successful so far at effectively managing people and projects across the product life cycle in my various job roles. I have also supported sales and business development activities through developing proposals and concept notes, and presenting the scientific team capabilities to pharmaceutical clients from medical affairs, market access, marketing and regulatory divisions.
Coming to identifying the skills and abilities, I acquired sound clinical knowledge on therapy areas along with the pathological and physiological processes involved in the disease conditions during my career as an oral surgeon. Moreover, being an epidemiologist and biostatistician helped me acquire additional knowledge on the morbidity and burden associated with diseases and also laid the ground for polishing my analytical skills. Working for multinational companies helped me gain experience in providing market access solutions for new products and in formulating strategies to alleviate the burden imposed by a disease. I also have the experience in project, people and time management, along with experience in real world-evidence generation, scientific knowledge dissemination, market research and scientific writing. In addition, I have excellent communication and writing skills with advanced knowledge on the product life cycle of a drug. As a Global Health professional, Marius currently a currently assumes the role as M&E Consultant with Family Health International (Fhi360) funded by PEPFAR via USAID, in this capacity, He provides technical assistance to the ministry of health Cameroon, supported the rollout of decentralized distribution of antiretroviral drugs delivery in Cameroon aimed to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control, He coordinates the national assessment of community ARV delivery, reviewed, developed and adapted data reporting and health information tools, resources, systems, data flow, protocols, job aids, standards, etc. to ensure seamless reporting of quality data from implementing direct ARV drug delivery. Prior to this, he completed the Afya Bora Global Health Leadership Fellowship at the University of Washington in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania. He worked as a Quality Improvement Officer with the HIV Free Project funded by PEPFAR through the CDC to support the Ministry of Health in effective reporting, monitoring and evaluation of progress made in the national HIV clinical cascade. In addition, Marius also has an interest in HIV/TB and Malaria, environmental and occupational health and has authored within this domain. He is working on a PhD with anticipates graduation in 2023.
