Partnerships Associate
Project Overview and Role:
Palladium is hiring an Partnerships Associate into its nature-based solutions platform as a fixed term project hire to work on the Revere facility and broader NbS portfolio. The Partnerships Associate will work closely with NBS team on the development of external partnerships essential for the success of the facility.
NBS works to restore natural landscapes around the world through demonstrating that restoring nature can outperform destroying it as an economic activity. By supporting the commercialisation of underdeveloped revenue streams such as carbon, biodiversity, and non-timber forest products, these projects and business models hold the key to unlocking alternative livelihoods for rural communities who may otherwise rely on destructive practices. The NBS team supports a portfolio of investment vehicles and models across tropical and temperate regions.
’Palladium’s Revere facility, delivered in partnership with the UK National Parks, has been awarded funding for several projects with an increasing level of strategic opportunities presenting to increase the size of the portfolio. The postholder will help to realise these opportunities by working closely with the wider NBS team to develop new partnerships, secure funding, and raise the profile of our work amongst potential clients and stakeholders. This role is a fixed-term project hire to support Revere with scope to support other initiatives within the NBS portfolio; including a tropical carbon accelerator, a Latin America-focused sustainable land-use fund, and an Africa wide returnable grants facility set up to strengthen commodity supply chains.
As part of the organising force at the center of the platform, you will be working at the cutting edge of the fight against climate change on the development of a daring and ambitious first-of-its-kind platform which will have a transformational impact on environmental issues in the UK and across the world. This role will give you the opportunity to work alongside heavily experienced industry leaders focused on delivering sustainability outcomes through mobilising impact capital and complex project management.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Partnerships Associate is a career development role focusing on external relations, partnerships development, communications, fundraising and developing the client and partner base of Revere and other NBS facilities.
The primary responsibilities of the Partnerships Associate will include:
Support the identification, assessment and pursuit of new partnership opportunities for Revere.
Support the development of new partnerships – this includes but is not limited to preparing high quality marketing materials and pitch decks, coordinating calls and managing relationships.
Contribute to the preparation and writing of expressions of interest, client proposals, and coordinate bids and funding applications.
Manage and maintain existing Revere partnerships through building strong relationships and acting as point of contact on behalf of the NBS platform and in conjunction with wider team.
Maintain systems and processes for capturing and managing partnerships, and leads and for tracking new partnership opportunities.
Contribute to the development of thought-pieces, articles and other communications activities to share knowledge and insights about Revere.
Build the NBS team’s understanding of its sectors of operation through ongoing monitoring of relevant organisations and researching ecosystem stakeholders, conducting analysis on how they interrelate.
Support the design of strategic internal and external workshops and meetings for the platform, with view to conducting analysis with wider team.
Attend external workshops, seminars, and events to better understand the NBS ecosystem and share insights and lessons with the team.
Delivering sector, network and technical research assignments.
Required Qualifications:
Commitment to fighting climate change and deforestation with the ability to convincingly articulate this commitment.
Passion for environmental issues, international development, private sector-led development, forestry / nature-based solutions, sustainability or supply chain management.
An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in Project Management, Finance, Business, Economics or Social Sciences (postgraduate degree preferred).
Experience in a consultancy firm, government department, research organisation, communications firm or relevant advocacy NGO.
Policy fluency around international climate change, environmental issues, corporate commitments to change and sustainability.
Commercial acumen and/or or sales/fundraising experience with experience of contributing to successful client proposals.
Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to influence and convince stakeholders.
Professional fluency in English, including a high standard of writing, editing and proofreading.
Working proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, French or Bahasa.
Knowledge of data analysis or visualisation software.
Willingness to travel at short notice to remote international locations.
We are a flexible employer and applicants from anywhere in the UK will be considered, although willingness to work from our Bristol or London office is considered an advantage.
