The program equips scholars with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective leaders in global health delivery througha holistic approachthat includes mentorship, leadership training, and community engagement.Ultimately, thisinitiative not only enhances the employability of graduates but also contributes to breaking the cycle of poverty, narrowing gender disparities, and improving health outcomes across the continent.RoleOverviewThe M&E and Research Coordinator will develop and implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the effectiveness of the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. This role includes systematic data collection, analysis, and reporting on program outcomes,quality improvement, and performancemonitoring.Thecoordinatorwillmaintainprogram records, evaluate program execution, andanalyseall program statistical data to inform decision-making processes. Additionally, the Coordinator will conduct various research activities, including surveys, focus groups, and case studies, to gather insights on program implementation and scholar experiences.The M&E and Research Coordinatoris responsible forestablishingand overseeing a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at UGHE. This role involves systematically collecting,analysing, and reporting data related to program outcomes and performance indicators to assess the program’s effectiveness and impact. Thecoordinatorwill conduct research activities, including surveys and focus groups, to gather valuable insights on program implementation and scholar experiences. By collaborating with stakeholders and employing data-driven decision-making,thecoordinatorplays a crucial role in ensuring the program’s continuous improvement and alignment with itsobjectives. This position requires strong analytical skills and experience in research methodologies, emphasizing its significance in achieving the program’s goals and enhancing its overall impact.ResponsibilitiesFramework Development and ImplementationDevelop and implement a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework to assess program outcomes and performance indicators.Ensure alignment of the M&E framework with institutional goals, programobjectives, and stakeholder requirements.Data Collection, Analysis, and ReportingDesign and manage systems for data collection, including surveys, focus groups, case studies, and other research methods.Analyzedata on program effectiveness, including academic performance and career outcomes of scholars, toidentifytrends and insights.Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.Program Assessment and Continuous ImprovementConduct comprehensive evaluations of program implementation and scholar experiences toidentifystrengths, challenges, and areas for improvement.Provide actionable recommendations to enhance program quality andimpactthrough data-driven decision-making.Collaboration and Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with internal teams, program staff, and external stakeholders to ensure effective integration of M&E findings into program development.Facilitate learning sessions and discussions to share evaluation results and promote continuous improvement.Capacity Building and InnovationTrain staff and partners on M&E methodologies, tools, and technologies to ensure consistent and high-quality data collection and analysis.Explore and implement innovative tools and techniques to enhance M&E processes and efficiency.Strategic Research and Insights GenerationLead research initiatives to gather actionable insights on program implementation, scholar experiences, and long-term outcomes.Use case studies andevidenceto inform strategic decisions and program innovations.Qualifications and ExperienceMaster’sor advanceddegree in Public Health,Statistics,Global Health Delivery, or any other health-related field.At least 3 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and research within the health or education sectors.Strong knowledge of research methodologies, data analysis, and reporting.Proficiencyin using monitoring and evaluation tools and software.Experience in developing and implementing M&E frameworks and systems.Familiarity with donor reporting and program evaluation standards.Ability toanalyzedata, generate reports, andprovideactionable insights for program improvements.How to ApplyApplicants should provide: (1) curriculum vitae, (2) Degree, (3) A cover letter describing your interest in UGHE and relevant experience.
